Cappadocia, Caesarea. Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. AR drachm (18 mm, 3.34 g, 11 h). Regnal year 5 (A.D. 241/2). AV KAI M ANT ΓOPΔIANOC, laureate head of Gordian III right / MHTPO KAI B NЄ, view of Mt. Argaeus; in right field, pellet; in exergue, date (ЄT Є). Bland 127; Sydenham 604. Lightly toned. Minor porosity. Good very fine.

Bland (p. 298) shows that the pellets in the reverse field of Gordian's silver coinage from Caesarea signify the denomination, with two pellets found on didrachms and a single pellet on drachms.
